Submission Guidelines
(Tsing Hua Journal of Educational Research)
1. The Tsing Hua Journal of Educational Research (herein after “the Journal”) is dedicated to the publication of original research from all relevant fields of study are welcomed year-round. The scope of submissions includes the following topics and directions:
(1) Forward-Looking and Innovative Education: This includes new concepts, forward-thinking ideas, and innovative trends in education, as well as innovations in teaching methods, experimental education, and a re-evaluation of learning environments and educational systems.
(2) Educational Technology and Education: This focuses on the effectiveness and processes of learning and teaching, the application of educational and learning technologies, emerging technologies and education, as well as the exploration of related theoretical applications and practical teaching implementations.
(3) Individual Development and Education: This covers the formation and development of an individual's cognitive, emotional, behavioral, or personality traits across their lifespan, developmental disorders and therapy, developmental assessment and intervention, and their impact on psychological, learning, and educational processes.
(4) School Psychology and Education: This emphasizes issues in school psychology and education, such as student counseling, teacher-student or parent-teacher interaction, classroom management, teamwork, school climate, educational administration, institutional research, and other related topics.
(5) Community and Cultural Psychology and Education: This explores how community, social, and cultural factors influence education, including family and multicultural backgrounds, intergenerational needs, lifelong learning, and the impact of social and environmental changes on learning and education.
2. Article types
Submissions are divided into four main categories:
(1) Original Article: This refers to original academic research papers. The word count should generally be 20,000 words (excluding the abstract). Lecture notes, entire theses, and continuing education research reports will not be published.
(2) Scholarly Commentary: The word count should be within 20,000 words (excluding the abstract). This category is for systematic commentaries, reflections, and recommendations on domestic and international theories, issues, research findings, or practical developments in education, psychology, and learning. The commentary must fall into one of the following four forms: (a) results of a literature review; (b) a proposal of specific solutions and research methods; (c) a conceptual discussion of a research topic; or (d) a discussion of preliminary or major research findings.
(3) Colloquium: This is a systematic analysis and commentary on current events or research topics related to education.
(4) Review: This is an introduction and commentary on a significant book published within the last five years.
3. The second page of the manuscript should contain the abstract. Except for book reviews, all manuscript types must include both a Chinese and an English abstract.
The Chinese abstract for Scholarly Commentaries and Colloquia should be approximately 400 characters, and the English abstract should be around 200 words.
For Original Articles, the Chinese abstract should be 500-800 characters, and the English abstract should be 250-400 words. The abstract's content should include the research purpose, research design/methodology/approach, research findings or conclusions, research originality/value, and educational policy recommendations and applications. This content should be presented in separate paragraphs.
Following the abstract, 3-7 keywords must be listed. For Chinese manuscripts, the Chinese abstract comes before the main text, and the English abstract comes after. For English manuscripts, this order is reversed. If a manuscript is accepted for publication, the author must also provide English translations for all Chinese references.
4. The Journal adopts an anonymous peer-review system; each manuscript is reviewed by two experts from the relevant field of study invited by editorial board members. Please refer to the “Manuscript Review Procedure” for detailed instructions.
5. The format of the manuscript: Please refer to the “Format and Style Guide” for detailed instructions.
(1) To ensure anonymity, do not mark the name of the author(s) and affiliated institution(s) in the digital file of the manuscript (all relevant information shall be annotated by the Journal after publication is confirmed).
(2) The second page of the manuscript should contain the abstract. Chinese and English abstracts are required for manuscripts in Chinese and English. The abstract should include about 250 words/characters and be followed by three to seven keywords. For Chinese manuscripts, the Chinese abstract should be placed before the main body and the English abstract after the main body. The placement of abstracts for English manuscripts should be the opposite of the Chinese layout. Upon approval for publication, the author(s) should include the English translation of any Chinese references.

6. Footnotes, citation formats, and reference lists should all be written in accordance with the current Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
7. Once the manuscript has been accepted by the Journal, the contributor will be issued the “Acceptance of Proof of Publication”.
8. In case of duplicate publication, violation of academic ethics, or copyright infringement, the author(s) are solely responsible for all relevant legal responsibilities. If such a case occurs, the author(s) shall be banned from further publication in the Journal for two years from the date of the incident.
9. Correction and Offprints
(1) Authors are responsible for the correction of information after typesetting is complete. The editorial board is only responsible for correction of the format.
(2) The Journal shall give the contributor one free copy of the issue of the Journal and the PDF file of the individual article if the contributor’s paper is published.
